Members are invited to attend our twice yearly Fall and Spring Business Meetings where important governing matters are discussed, proposed, and/or voted upon. All members of your household ages 14 + are eligible to vote. The Fall Business Meeting is when new Board Members are elected by membership, so your participation is important.

This is handicapped for multiple classes of boats (Opti excluded, this is far away from shore.) Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, with a 12pm start.
Our most formal traditional event and the highlight of the year!! It’s where recognition, awards, and scholarships go out to the season’s distinguished Adult & Junior sailors, and we witness the changeover and induction of Commanding Officers and other Board changes. Join WPSA!
A student’s entire family becomes members! There are many opportunities for all to take part in WPSA – learn to sail, race & socialize. You do not need to own a boat or know how to sail – membership required for youth and adult classes, with the exception of Sailing Adventures trials. The annual season renewal period begins April 1st. Enroll today!
Social and Club Events for youth and adults include regattas and races, cocktail parties, annual clam bake, BBQ’s, blood drives, dinners, youth talent show, art auction, movie night, family dinners and more!
Take Sailing Lessons!
Ages 8 thru adults are invited to learn to sail on our boats, during our popular 7-week summer programs – starting JUNE 29th, 2026. Register HERE. Adults and family groups of all ages may learn together in evening Adult/Family sessions held on Mon/Wed evenings from 6-8pm. Youth (ages 8-18) day classes are held Mon – Thursdays! Beginners Mon-Thurs 8am-10am; Intermediate 10am-12pm; Race Team 1-4pm with Friday competitions off-site. Inquire to learn more HERE. Race the Bay
Regattas to informal community evening races, no matter your age or preference you’ll find yourself part of a community! Form long-lasting friendships – enjoy all that WPSA offers. Summers we have Tuesday Night Sunfish Races (Opti & Lasers welcome); Friday Nights we have Flying Scot races, plus special race series and regional championships we host. We have just posted our July club race schedule on the Event Calendar and the NOR for the Summer Series for Handicap racing in the top menu. Participate and volunteer for our Annual GSBYRA Junior Regatta, date to be determined.

Take a trial experience if you are not completely sure if sailing is for you or your child! Our 2-day ADULT TRIALS or our 4-Day Youth SAILING ADVENTURES TRIALS are the perfect way to “test the waters”. Everyone can learn to sail, check it out.
A trial gives you a taste to see if you or your family member wants to commit for the season! This makes a GREAT gift.
Youth 4-day Sessions: #1 June 29-July 2 / #2 July 6-9 / #3 July 13-16 / #4 July 20-23. 8-10am (younger kids) or 10am-12pm.
Adults 2-day Sessions: #1 June 29 & July 1 / #2 July 6 & 8 / #3 July 13 & 15 / #4 July 20 & 22. 6-8pm.
Pay Dry Sail
PAY SUMMER DRY SAIL: For Members who wish to pay for the upcoming Summer Dry Sail 2026 (May 1-Oct 31), Membership renewal season begins May 1, 2026 – a 2026 Family Membership must be paid in full before registering for Summer 2026 Dry Sail. New or returning boats MUST be approved first, access is not guaranteed. You MUST indicate your WPSA Sticker ID#, If you don’t have one or it needs replacement or wish to inquire: ask the Rear Commodore, Tom Drum HERE.
PAY WINTER DRY SAIL: Winter is coming! Please register and pay for Winter Dry Sail (Nov 1-April 30). Registration is NOT YET OPEN. It is considered overdue if not paid by 12/31, for members with boats in the yard. Late fees apply from 12:00am, Jan. 1st. Unpaid boats at that time will incur PENALTY FEES of 50% and face possible removal from the yard. New boats arriving after Jan 1st don’t pay a penalty rate – contact Barbara. Again, late fees for Winter Dry Sail go into effect JANUARY 1st.

HAVE A SAILBOAT? Inquire about Dry Sail. Be on the bay in minutes via our beach or self-launch motorized hoist – suitable for sail-powered boats 19′ and under that have appropriate harness bridles.
